I’ve had such a long week, between staying up late to finish homework, school and my placement I’ve been dead tired.  I’m loving my placement though, school, not so much.. hehe We’ve started a journal writing assignment in class, I’m liking that. Although they’re just short entries, I can still manage that o.k I think ;) I’ve borrowed Bram Stokers Dracula(movie) off of a classmate, she went and purchased the movie recently, cause she just wasn’t getting the movie.. I lent her my notes on the theme development so that she could get an idea on what was expected of us.. I hated doing that. The next thing I’m not liking is the resume we have to write up for one of the characters. It’s just stupid! lol

My first week of being an EA was awesome..I adore working with the kids, and Jennah REALLY seems to love it as well.. She gets me to sit down with her and her group in her class to eat our nutrition breaks together..
My first day was of course I was a lil nervous of how things would go.. I had 4 students stay back from skating with me(grade ones) and I had to get them to work on about 5 sheets of work, mainly some math and crosswords. I let them get the best of me for the first half of the morning ;) I let them go to the bathroom and get drinks, they were tryin to get out of doing the work and just wanted to colour, so I let them do those things then told them they had to get working, so after our nutrition break(I couldn’t have it with Jennah the 1st day) we came back to the library and sat down to finish, well 2 of the 3 lil boys asked for drinks and bathroom again but I told them no, they’d gone it’s time to get their work done before their teacher gets back.. hehe They did it!
I mainly work with the kids that are struggling more then the rest of the class, and they’re all so cute.. Some want to just chit chat about anything, others want to play with my hair, nails and necklace.. lol And some are ready to work on whatever I have.. hehe They all seem to work well with me. I have 3 classes that I’m working with, two grade one classes mostly, one I work with in the morning then in the afternoon I move to the 2nd grade one class.
This has really made me think that I’d love to take a college course to become an Educational Assistant. Once I get my grade 12 by the end of January then I can apply for the course. I never thought I’d want to do this for a job, but strange things pop up along the way that change your life path..

Today was a snow day, so we didn’t have to go to school.. hehe But I can’t wait for my one and only day this week, which is tomorrow, then Friday is the start of March Break! WoOot!
